<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document reader for reading a document with resolution by which a character can be read. <P>SOLUTION: A reading section 2 reads the document 20 at the highest resolution, generates reference document image data, reads the document 20 at the plurality of different resolutions lower than the highest resolution and generates a plurality of pieces of document image data. A character recognition section 3 performs a character recognition processing on the reference document image data and the plurality of pieces of document image data, and counts the number of characters in a prescribed size or below, which are included in a region designated by an operator, in the reference document image data and the plurality of pieces of document image data. A comparison section 4 compares the number of characters of the reference document image data with the number of characters of the plurality of pieces of document image data, and outputs the document image data which is read at the lowest resolution among the plurality of pieces of document image data which are read at the resolution in which a difference between the number of reference characters and the number of characters is included in an allowable range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
