Disclosed is a method for producing a high quality lubricating oil. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method of the present invention includes a use of linear alpha-olefin which has low-priced hydrocarbon chains with C18 or more as a raw material, followed by conversion thereof into internal linear olefin, of which position distribution of double bonds are controlled, and then an oligomerization.
