A gravity type water power system using an intake tube enables water stored in a dam or a reservoir to fall into a turbine through an intake tube by using the law of gravity to revolve the turbine by head energy of water at a high location and generate electricity by using rotational power of the turbine. The system comprises: the intake tube installed in a dam or a reservoir; an opening and closing cap which selectively opens or closes an external lower end of the intake tube; and a generator which generates electric energy.
