<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively eliminate an afterimage quality defect caused by continuously forming surface images. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a latent image forming device 9 for forming an electrostatic latent image on an image carrier 1 on the basis of an image signal; a development device 10 that includes a developer carrier 2 for retaining and transporting developer G containing toner, carrier and external additive having the same polarity as the toner, causes the developer to rub on the image carrier 1 and develops the latent image formed on the image carrier 1 by a latent-image forming device 9; an image-forming condition determination device 11 for integrating a zone forming a surface image continuously for each cycle of the image carrier 1 on the basis of an image signal corresponding to the electrostatic latent image and determining whether or not the integrated value is a special image-forming condition exceeding a predetermined threshold; and a developer control device 12 for controlling a development parameter of the development device 10 so as to reduce force of the rubbing of the developer G on the image carrier 1 by the development device 10 under a condition preventing carrier transfer onto at least a continuous surface image zone if determined to be the special image-forming condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
