<p>In this head-mounted display having, in addition to an image display unit, an imaging unit that images the outside world by receiving the entry of outside world light, the field of view in the horizontal direction is greatly improved, device compactness is increased, and portability is heightened. The HMD (1) is provided with: an LCD (11) that emits image light; a PBS (21) that is disposed in front of an eye (Y1) of the user, is entered by the image light emitted from the LCD (11) from above, reflects the entered image light causing entry to the eye (Y1), and transmits a portion of entering outside world light causing entry to the eye (Y1); a PBS (22) that is disposed above PBS (21), is entered by image light emitted from the LCD (11) in the direction along the left-right direction of the user, and reflects the entered image light downwards, causing entry to PBS (21); and an imaging element that receives and images at an imaging surface the outside world light routing through PBS (22) entering along the light axis or a line of extension thereof of the image light entering PBS (22).</p> |
