<p>The invention refers to a method for the oxidation of organic or inorganic substrates in the presence of a heterogeneous titanium dioxide catalyst, an organic peroxide or hydrogen peroxide and an acid, wherein the pKa of the acid is 3 or lower. The method of the invention may advantageously be employed in the degradation of contaminants in fluids, in the desulfurization and denitrogenation of oils and fuels, in the bleaching of fibres, in the improvement of the whiteness and/or appearance of food, etc.</p> |
