The vapor removal device has an inner fireplace housing (8) which is covered in completely mounted condition by a cover part, particularly a stainless steel panel part. A ventilation box (25) is inserted in the cover part for a blower of the vapor removal device. A rear wall of the inner fireplace housing has a hook element (33), at which the ventilation box is suspended in a tool-free solvable manner. An independent claim is included for a method for mounting a vapor removal device.
