<p>A zip securing mechanism comprising a support structure configured to be mounted on the slider of the zip fastener; at least one engagement member 130 for engaging between adjacent teeth of a zip fastener 10 in a first position, and spaced from the teeth in a second position, thereby substantially preventing movement of a slider 40 with respect to the rows of teeth 20, 30; a control switch 80 configured to move the engagement member 130; and a lock lockable to substantially prevent actuation of the control switch 80; when the lock is locked, the engagement member 130 is in the first position preventing movement of the slider 40 with respect to the rows of teeth 20, 30. When the lock is unlocked, the engagement member may be movable between first and second positions, the member preferably being resiliently biased towards the second position. The control switch may provide a cam surface 100 and the engagement member a cam follower 110, the lock comprising a lock pin resiliently biased towards the cam surface.</p> |
