<p>An adjustable shootbolt assembly 10 comprising first and second elongate bars 12, 27 arranged for relative sliding movement to adjust the length. A connector mechanism 40 clamps the two bars 12, 27 together at a chosen length and includes a pivotal lever 48 mounted for rotation between a free position where relative movement of the two members 12, 27 is possible and a clamped position where relative movement of the two members 12, 27 is inhibited. The lever 48 has an over-centre action on moving between the two positions and may have a cam 54 with lobe 49. The first bar may be bent to form a step and the connector may have a housing providing a channel within which the second bar may slide. Preferably a floating clamp element 60 having a plurality of studs engage with recess in the second bar to assist clamping the bars in position.</p> |
