<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, device, method, and computer program for controlling a vehicle, capable of preventing a vehicle from mistakenly entering an intersection when the closest traffic light is signaling "stop." <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle control system is configured such that, in the case where a vehicle is stopped at an intersection, the system acquires lighting states of a closest traffic light ahead in a direction of travel of the vehicle and of a farther traffic light ahead in the direction of travel of the vehicle and located farther from the vehicle than the closest traffic light is, respectively based on an image captured by a front camera 19 (S3), and, if the lighting state of the farther traffic light changes from "stop" to "proceed" while the lighting state of the closest traffic light remains "stop," performs control to suppress vehicle start for a prescribed period from the time when the lighting state of the farther traffic light changed (S8). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
