<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing hydrophobic silica particles by which hydrophobic silica particles having little coarse grains and high hydrophobicity are obtained. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing hydrophobic silica particles includes: a dispersion liquid preparing process of preparing a silica particle dispersion liquid containing hydrophilic silica particles, alcohol and water; a solvent removing process of circulating supercritical carbon dioxide to remove a solvent in the silica particle dispersion liquid; and a hydrophobic treatment process of subjecting the surface of the hydrophilic silica particles to hydrophobic treatment by a hydrophobic treatment agent in the supercritical carbon dioxide continuously with the solvent removing process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
