The installation has a primary circulation circuit (1) with loops (41, 42) connected by a four-way valve (10), and another valve (33) placed on one of the loops between an evaporator/condenser (5) and the four-way valve. A by-pass branch (50) has an end connected to the other loop, between a heat exchanger (25) and the four-way valve, and another end connected to the former loop, between an expansion valve (9) and the evaporator/condenser. Another expansion valve (59) is placed on the branch and permits passage of refrigerant fluid in a forward direction from the former end to the latter end. The expansion valves are electronic expansion valves, or thermostatic expansion valves.
