<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document retrieval system and a document retrieval program that can reduce influence of general words and display a document including a sentence in which retrieval words relate to each other in a higher position. <P>SOLUTION: After a given retrieval condition is analyzed to acquire a plurality of retrieval words included in the retrieval condition (step S201), each retrieval word is divided into units of (n) characters (n≥1) (step S202). Then appearance frequencies for each words obtained by dividing each retrieval word are extracted for each page registered in an index (step S203). Appearance frequencies for each retrieval word for each pages of each retrieval word and generality of each retrieval word are calculated using the appearance frequencies for each pages obtained through the extraction (step S204).
