The device (10) has an adjustment section for the adjustment of a vibration behavior of a machine element e.g. frame, of an electric motor, and a cavity (12) arranged in the adjustment section. A specified insertion apparatus (20) is variably inserted into the cavity in such a way that the stiffness of the adjustment section is changed, where the insertion apparatus is variably positioned in the cavity. The adjustment section is provided at an edge area (R) of the device so that the adjustment section is easily accessible from its environment. An independent claim is also included for an electric motor.
