METHOD OF CODING A FIRST AND A SECOND VERSION OF AN IMAGE INTO A BASE LAYER AND AN ENHANCEMENT LAYER BASED ON A COLOR GAMUT MAPPING MODEL

The method comprises the steps of:
- determining, for each color of the second version, corresponding scalar value(s) of one or two variable(s) such that, if said scalar value(s) is applied to the color gamut mapping model, a mapped color is obtained having a minimal distance to the corresponding color of the first version (i.e. enhanced) to the color of second version,
- encoding the determined scalar value(s) into an enhancement layer.
