<p>A device for producing a thread in a hole of a workpiece by means of a press or the like, which comprises a static bottom part (10) and a ram (12) which can be linearly moved thereto, having a rotationally drivable thread former (48) mounted in a thread forming head (46), having a toothed rack (28), having a drive unit (34) which engages in the toothed rack (28) with a pinion (36), wherein the toothed rack (28) and the drive unit (34) are moved relative to each other by the stroke of the ram (12), and having a transmission connection, which transmits the rotational motion of the drive unit (34) to the thread forming head (46) for rotationally driving the thread former (48). The transmission connection is formed by an articulated shaft (38), which transmits a torque and can be moved transversely to the axis of said articulated shaft.</p> |
