<p>The invention relates to an external door handle for a locking mechanism on a motor vehicle, comprising a housing piece (4) fixed to the door (2) and a door handle (6) which is held in the housing piece (4) by means of joints and coupled to a device (10,12,14) mounted in the housing piece (4) for a locking operation of the locking mechanism and a device for prevention of the opening of the door (2) on a side collision against the door (2). The device for prevention of the door (2) opening comprises a sensing device (18), which detects a deformation of the door (2) and activates a device (16) which blocks an operation of the device (10,12,14) for locking operation or releases the connection of the device (10,12,14) for locking operation to the locking mechanism.</p> |
