Disclosed is a method for decoding an image divided into blocks. The method repeats at least one of a) a step (S20) of determining a priority level in response to directional gradients calculated in a causal neighborhood which is, at least, a cause of the blocks about at least two blocks adjacent to a rebuilt part of an image; and a step (S22) of decoding a part of the image having a block with the highest priority. The method increases coding efficiency.
