1. A display device comprising
light emitting elements that are arranged in a two-dimensional matrix, wherein the light emitting elements include a drive circuit which is provided on a substrate, a first insulating layer which covers the drive circuit and the substrate, a light emitting portion which includes a first electrode, an organic layer having a light emitting layer, and a second electrode, and a second insulating layer which covers the first electrode, the first electrode is formed on the first insulating layer and is electrically connected to the drive circuit, the light emitting elements further include a window layer which is provided on the first electrode, the light emitting portion is divided into plural window portions by the window layer, the organic layer is formed at least on a portion of the first electrode and on a portion of the window layer, wherein a first surface of the window layer is in contact with and is entirely supported by the first electrode, and wherein the first surface of the window layer is not in contact with the first insulating layer, the second electrode is formed on the organic layer, wherein the second electrode is separated from the window layer by the organic layer, and when there is a foreign material in a window portion of the light emitting portion, a portion of the first electrode corresponding to the window portion is separated from the other portions of the first electrode.
