The present invention relates to a data transmission and reception method of a vehicle terminal wherein when transmitting and receiving data based on the vehicle communications protocol standard IEEE 802.11p/WAVE (Wireless Access Vehicular Environments), if an amount of data to be transmitted by a vehicle terminal is greater than a predetermined amount, data is transmitted and received by being additionally allocated with a TXOP (Transmission Opportunity) limit interval. To this end, by using an Access Category (AC) concept that differentiates data-based priorities and depending on whether each access category-based data is saturated or not, data corresponding to a saturated access category is transmitted and received through an additional TXOP limit interval.
