Infection of pathogens is controlled by inducing disease resistance with a method of treating a plant with a composition of an acidic heat-treated solution of microorganisms.

1. A method comprising:
applying to a plant a composition comprising a microbial cell extract so that pathogenic infectious diseases of said plant are controlled, wherein said microbial cell extract has been subjected to a heat treatment temperature of 70° C. or higher in an acidic solution, wherein said acidic solution is at pH of 1 to 6, and wherein said microbial cell is selected from the group consisting of Corynebacterium glutamicum, Pantoea ananatis, Bacillus subtilis, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
