摘要 Systems and methods are disclosed that implement multiple inter-chip (IC) links to communicate digital signals and data between multiple tuner circuit chips of a radio frequency (RF) antenna diversity system. The multiple IC communication links may be employed, for example, to simultaneously communicate different signals and/or data between individual tuner circuit chips of a multi-signal type antenna diversity system in an asynchronous manner, and may be employed to achieve simultaneous antenna diversity for multiple RF signal types using a scalable IC communication link architecture that includes multiple IC communication links to interconnect a varying number of RF tuner circuit chips.

An antenna diversity system, comprising: at least two radio frequency (RF) tuner circuits coupled together by at least a first segment of a first inter-chip (IC) communication link and at least a first segment of a second IC communication link, the two RF tuner circuits being configured to simultaneously communicate at least one of digital streaming data, non-streaming digital packetized data, or a combination thereof simultaneously across the first segment of the first IC communication link and across the first segment of the second IC communication link; where each given one of the two RF tuner circuits has a RF input that is configured to receive RF signals of a RF spectrum and at least one digital output that is configured to produce at least one digital output signal that is based at least in part on the RF signals received by the RF input of the given RF tuner circuit, digital streaming data received from the other RF tuner circuit across at least one of the first segment of the first IC communication link or the first segment of the second IC communication link, or a combination thereof.
