The present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display apparatus which can solve deterioration of image quality caused by a noise signal and visibility degradation caused by reflected light, and a method for manufacturing the same. According to the present invention, the liquid crystal display apparatus comprises: a liquid crystal panel having upper and lower substrates attached to each other while having a liquid crystal layer driven by a horizontal electric field interposed therebetween; a low reflection ground layer formed on an upper surface of the upper substrate; an upper polarization film formed on the low reflection ground layer; and a grounding member for electrically grounding the low reflection ground layer. The low reflection ground layer may include: a transparent conductive layer formed on the upper surface of the upper substrate, and electrically connected to the grounding member; and a refractive index matching layer formed on a remaining upper surface portion except for edge portions of an upper surface of the transparent conductive layer to have a lower refractive index and a thinner thickness than the transparent conductive layer. |
