The present invention relates to a caption broadcasting system and, more particularly, to a caption relay system which is needed to transmit a caption of a local broadcasting, and a method thereof. According to the present invention, the caption relay system comprises: a broadcasting signal reception unit for receiving each local area and central broadcasting signals through a transfer mediator of the broadcasting signals; a broadcasting signal distribution unit for distributing and transmitting the received local area and central broadcasting signals to one or more designated remote stenographer terminal devices which are logged-in; a broadcasting signal relay control unit for controlling a switching path of the broadcasting signal distribution unit to distribute and transmit each local area or central broadcasting signal to the designated stenographer terminal devices; and a caption information transmission unit for selectively transmitting caption information transmitted from the stenographer terminal devices by a local area or central broadcasting station to a corresponding broadcasting station system according to the control of the broadcasting signal relay control unit. According to the present invention, several local broadcasting signals are received from a remote area to be distributed to the designated remote stenographer terminal devices, and the caption information transmitted from each stenographer terminal device is transmitted to a local or central broadcasting station, thereby providing a normal caption broadcasting service even without the security and operation of equipment and a stenographer, required for the caption broadcasting in each local broadcasting station. |
