The present invention relates to a method and device for restoring data in a DB2 database. The device receives a system file and data file inputted from a database. An extent map in which an address of a data region is searched in a data file, and a data region including a deleted record is induced. The deleted record from the data region is extracted, so the deleted record is restored. Information for one or more tables is induced from the system file, and each column size and data type included in information for one or more tables are sequentially compared by using each column size and data type of the deleted record, so table information of the deleted record is induced.
