<p>A machine system and method for simultaneously lapping a first machining surface of a hollow shaft and an opposing second machining surface of the hollow shaft, the machine system having a brake subsystem for securing the hollow shaft in a relatively stationary position while a drive subsystem rotates a lapping tool within the hollow shaft such that the lapping tool laps the first machining surface with an abrasive surface of a top lap while simultaneously lapping the second machining surface with an abrasive surface of a bottom lap.</p>
