PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid increase in inrush current regardless of the number of option units.SOLUTION: A facsimile apparatus mounts one or more paper feed units, each of which comprises: a power supply section to which electricity is supplied from a main body section or an upper level paper feed unit; a power distribution section for distributing electricity to a lower level paper feed unit; a motor for operating using electricity supplied from the power supply section; and a control section that makes the power distribution section start distributing power when supplied voltage exceeds a predetermined threshold after the power supply section starts power supply.
