Disclosed are a method and an apparatus to measure a distance between nodes using an optical supervisory channel (OSC). The method to measure the distance between the nodes is to measure the distance between the nodes configuring a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) network which may comprise: a step of a first node generating and transmitting a first frame including measurement start data, and at the same time start a clock count; a step of a second node starting the clock count while receiving the first frame and checking the measurement start data, ends the clock count while generating a second frame including measurement end data and transmitting the second frame to the first node, and adds calculated delay time data to the second frame; and a step of a first node calculating data round-trip time by ending the clock count while receiving the second frame and checking the measurement end data, and calculating data transmission time based on the data round-trip time and delay time data. |
