PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiper system capable of securing a minimum field of view of a driver in a large quantity of rainfall such as guerilla type locally and suddenly occurring heavy rainfall, without causing complication of a system structure nor cost increase.SOLUTION: A wiper system includes wiper blades 2a and 2b performing a reciprocating wiping operation on a windshield 3, and a raindrop sensor 9 for detecting a quantity of rainfall at present, on the basis of water droplets adhering onto the windshield 3. When rainfall more than a prescribed quantity is detected by the raindrop sensor 9, a heavy rain mode making a wiping range of the wiper blades 2a and 2b narrower than a regular wiping operation is executed. In the heavy rain mode, the wiper blade 2a arranged at a driver side is operated at high speed (Hi) in a heavy rain wiping area X set near a front field of view of a driver so as to secure a field of view of a driver. |
