PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method capable of preventing the processing time for halftone processing from being prolonged, and a printer that performs image processing with this method.SOLUTION: A printer 11 includes: a division section 43 for aligning in the width direction division image data obtained by dividing image data in the width direction of the image data; halftone processing section 47 for performing halftone processing from the left side to the right side of the division image data on the basis of a basic dither mask 34; and an off-set calculation section for calculating the amount of off-set as a difference in the width direction between the boundary of the division image data and the basic dither mask 34 crossing the boundary. The halftone processing section 47 applies the basic dither mask 34 to the division image data on the left side while applying a reflection dither mask obtained by reflecting the amount of off-set on the basic dither mask 34 to the division image data on the right side.
