PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that in some cases, due to long communication refrigerant piping, the total amount of hot water within a hot water storage tank cannot be completely boiled up at finish time of late-night time zone.SOLUTION: A heat pump type water heater 1 formed by connecting a hot water storage tank unit 2 having a hot water storage tank 3 and a water refrigerant heat exchanger 20 with a heat pump unit 4 by using communication refrigerant piping 36 includes: long piping mode setting means 42 for setting a long piping mode when the communication refrigerant piping 36 has a prescribed length or longer; and frequency setting means 46 for setting operation frequency of a compressor 31 during a boiling-up operation in accordance with a set content of the long piping mode setting means 42. In the long piping mode, the operation frequency of the compressor 31 is increased. |
