PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress disk degradation by reducing the spin-up and spin-down frequencies of a disk at a time of deleting data stored in a magnetic disk device.SOLUTION: A plurality of information processing apparatuses each including a plurality of magnetic disk device groups each including a plurality of disk devices includes a disk control unit that deletes all deletion target data designated by deleted data management information, erases all deleted data designation information included in the deleted data management information and updates the data management information, and updates disk group state information so as to set an inactive magnetic disk device from which data is deleted to an active magnetic disk device if any of data stored in the disk devices is changed based on a request from a terminal device sorted via a management device and a total data size that is a sum of sizes of all data included in the deleted data management information exceeds a first threshold. |
