PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus that improves productivity and can give priority to a factor (e.g., printing speed or image quality) to which the user wants to give priority.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus comprises: a data volume calculation section 16b for calculating a data volume per page of a printing job; an extraction section 16f for extracting an image whose resolution exceeds a printing resolution from among images contained in the printing job, in a case where the calculated data volume is greater than a threshold volume; a resolution conversion section 16g for converting the resolution of the extracted image to the printing resolution; the data volume calculation section 16b for calculating a data volume per page of the printing job after conversion to the printing resolution; a notification generation section 16h for generating and transmitting an instruction request for displaying a selection screen in order to make a user select a factor to be given priority between printing speed and image quality, in a case where the data volume per page of the printing job after conversion to the printing resolution is greater than the threshold volume; and the resolution conversion section 16g for reducing the resolution of the image contained in the printing job, in a case where the selected factor is the printing speed. |
