PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply power to a fixing section to the maximum, while preventing a total current to be supplied from a commercial power supply to an image forming apparatus from exceeding a limit value.SOLUTION: An instruction power calculation section 37 calculates specification power specified to be supplied to a fixing section 105 in oder to adjust a temperature of the fixing section 105 at a predetermined temperature. A current obtained by adding a fixing current to a load current is defined as a total current to be supplied from a commercial power supply AC to an image forming apparatus. An allowable current calculation section 35 calculates an allowable current of the fixing section 105, which is a value obtained by subtracting the load current from a limit value, in order to control the total current within the limit value. An allowable power calculation section 39 calculates allowable power, which is a value obtained by multiplying the allowable current by a fixing voltage. A target power determination section 41 determines the specification power as the target power when the specification power is equal to or less than the allowable power, or determines the allowable power as the target power when the specification power is larger than the allowable power. |
