PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front fork which prevents an excessive pressure from being applied to a cushioning chamber thereby inhibiting deterioration of cushioning performance and improves the responsiveness in the pressure side stroke.SOLUTION: A front fork includes: a piston 3 and a rod 2 supporting the piston 3; a cushioning chamber B in which the piston 3 is slidably housed; a ring shaped outer cushioning chamber M positioned at the outer peripheral side of the cushioning chamber B; a ring piston member 14 housed in the outer cushioning chamber M; a holding cylinder 13 which holds the ring piston member 14 with a tip side inserted from the opening side of the outer cushioning chamber M; and a holder member 1 which seals and fixes end parts of the cushioning chamber B and the outer cushioning chamber M. The front fork becomes expandable with these components. One end of the rod 2 and one end of the holding cylinder 13 are attached to an identical cap member 12 to link the rod 2 to the holding cylinder 13. The structure allows the rod 2 and the holding cylinder 13 to move forward or rearward together in an inner direction of the cushioning chamber B and an inner direction of the outer cushioning chamber M respectively. The ring piston member 14 is formed by a ring body 15 which slides on an inner periphery and an outer periphery of the outer cushioning chamber M while keeping air tightness. |
