PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling mechanism for a catalyst converter capable of suppressing thermal deterioration of a catalyst by efficiently lowering a catalyst temperature.SOLUTION: In a cooling mechanism for a catalyst converter, the catalyst converter 10 includes a coolant case 13 covering a catalyst case 11 through a clearance S, and the cooling mechanism includes a cooling source 21, a supply passage 22 for supplying coolant from the cooling source 21 to the clearance, a first valve 24 provided in the supply passage 22 and communicating or blocking between the cooling source 21 and the clearance S, a recovery passage 25 for supplying the coolant supplied to the clearance S to the cooling source 21, a second valve 26 provided in the recovery passage 25 and communicating or blocking between the clearance S and the cooling source 21, and a control section 40 for opening and closing the first valve 24 and the second valve 26 based on a catalyst temperature set in advance. When the catalyst temperature decreases to be lower than the catalyst temperature set in advance, the first valve 24 is closed, and then, the second valve 26 is closed after the first valve 24 is closed, and when the catalyst temperature is raised to the catalyst temperature set in advance, the first valve 24 and the second valve 26 are opened together. |
