PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid redundant encoding of bit depth related information.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes; an acquisition section which acquires first bit depth information for decoding a luminance component of an encoded image and second bit depth information for decoding a color difference component of the encoded image; and a decoding section for decoding the luminance component in accordance with the first bit depth information and decoding the color difference component in accordance with the second bit depth information. The decoding section decodes the color difference component with a second bit depth calculated on the basis of a first bit depth indicated by the first bit depth information and a bit depth differential indicated by the second bit depth information. |
