PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composite tin oxide sol to which metals other than tin are not substantially added, excellent in transparency, showing satisfactory conductivity, and, when being used as a coating liquid, reduced in deterioration of conductivity upon heat treatment to a base material, thus excellent in thermal stability only by a simple process free from pulverization-cracking-classification treatments.SOLUTION: A tin (IV) salt and a tin (II) salt are dissolved into water in such a manner, regarding the molar ratio, the tin (II) salt is controlled to be 0.5 or more and 20 or less with respect to 100 of the tin (IV) salt. The obtained water solution is neutralized to produce a hydrolyzate. Water is added to the hydrolyzate so as to be a slurry state, and thereafter, alkylamine is added thereto as a dispersion stabilizer. Further, pressure heating treatment is performed under the conditions of 120 to 200°C×0.1 MPa or higher. |
