An objective of the present invention is to suppress a gear-shifting shock in an auxiliary transmission mechanism while maintaining high power and fuel efficiency performance. To achieve the objective, a transmission control means [a transmission controller (12) and a hydraulic control circuit (11)] changes a gear-shifting step of an auxiliary transmission mechanism (30) from a first gear-shifting step to a second gear-shifting step when a through gear ratio which is an overall gear ratio of a variator (20) and the auxiliary transmission mechanism (30) changes from a gear ratio larger than a mode switching gear ratio to a gear ratio smaller than the mode switching gear ratio. The mode switching gear ratio is the highest gear ratio of the variator (20), and is set to the through gear ratio when the gear-shifting step of the auxiliary transmission mechanism (30) is the first gear-shifting step.
