PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition that is excellent in Payne effect and high in modulus, while maintaining high rubber hardness, and a pneumatic tire prepared using the same.SOLUTION: A rubber composition contains, based on diene rubber of 100 pts. mass, carbon black of 1-100 pts. mass and/or white filler of 10-150 pts. mass, a thiol compound having a mercapto group and a sulfonate group of 0.1-10 pts. mass, and a sulfur-containing compound (excluding the thiol compound) of 1-50 pts. mass. A pneumatic tire is produced using the rubber composition. |
