PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sash window ventilating device that can impart a fire protecting performance without greatly impairing work performance in the installation of the ventilating device, and can reliably close a ventilation path in the ventilating device by expansion of a thermal expansion refractory material in the case of fire, and thereby can prevent flame, smoke and heat from penetrating to a non-fire side, and to provide the sash window with this.SOLUTION: A sash window ventilating device 13 is integrally provided in an intermediate rail 1 of a sash, and includes: an indoor side vent 14 penetrated and formed to an indoor side side-wall part 8; an outdoor side vent 15 penetrated and formed to an outdoor side side-wall part; and an operation plate 21 provided by turnably connecting an end side in a hollow part 19, closing the indoor side vent 14 with a closing posture along the indoor side side-wall part 8, and opening the indoor side vent 14 with an opening posture obliquely installed. Also, the device includes a thermal expansion refractory material 23 provided in the hollow part 19, and heated and expanded in the case of fire. This thermal expansion refractory material 23 is disposed in a position to be heated and expanded in the case of fire, and to press the operation plate 21, and make and hold the closing posture. |
