PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for detecting the loss of synchronism of a synchronous motor.SOLUTION: A motor control device 100 has a motor magnetic flux estimating unit 108 for estimating a motor magnetic flux as the magnetic flux of a synchronous motor 102, an armature reaction magnetic flux estimating unit 151 for estimating an armature reaction magnetic flux which is a magnetic flux constituting the motor magnetic flux and a magnetic flux generated by current flowing in the synchronous motor 102, a magneto magnetic flux estimating unit 152 for estimating a magnet magnetic flux as a magnetic flux constituting the motor magnetic flux and also as a magnetic flux generated by permanent magnet of the synchronous motor 102 by using the estimated motor magnetic flux and the estimated armature reaction magnetic flux, and a loss-of-synchronism determining unit 154 for determining on the basis of the estimated magnetic flux whether the synchronous motor 102 loses synchronism.
