PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring material dispersion liquid having excellent dispersibility and dispersion stability of a coloring material, from which a coating film with a high contrast can be formed.SOLUTION: The coloring material dispersion liquid comprises (A) a dispersant, (B) a coloring material, and (C) a solvent. The (A) dispersant is a polymer having a structural unit represented by general formula (I) below; and the polymer has a salt formed by at least a part of amino groups included in the structural unit represented by general formula (I) and by a halogenated hydrocarbon that has at least one functional group selected from an acid group and its ester group and may include a hetero atom. Symbols in general formula (I) are described in the specification of the present invention.
