PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of taking an image by using proper exposure conditions irrespective of changes in ambient circumstances.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging unit that takes an image; a signal processing section that generates an image data of the image taken by the imaging unit according to the exposure conditions by using plural different exposure conditions; an image recognition section that recognizes the image data of the image generated by the signal processing section as an image on each of the exposure conditions; and a selection section that selects an exposure condition suitable for taking an image for the imaging unit based on the image recognition result of the image data of the images on each of the exposure conditions by the image recognition section.
