PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purification method capable of enhancing yield of sublimation purification of an organic compound used for a photoelectric conversion element having enhanced light response speed and an organic electroluminescent element having low deriving voltage and exhibiting excellent external quantum efficiency and purity of a purified product.SOLUTION: An organic compound having 10% weight loss temperature of 265°C or more at vacuum degree of 1×10-2 Pa or less, such as compound 1 is applied to a heating cleaning purification treatment to set the content of a solvent in the organic compound at 0.2 mass or less, then the organic compound is sublimation purified.
