PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing high molecular weight polyether polyol excellent in productivity.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing polyether polyol where cyclic ether or its derivative as raw material is brought into ring-opening polymerization reaction in the presence of a ring-opening polymerization reaction catalyst to produce polyether polyol having the number average molecular weight of 1,500 to 5,000, at least including: a step of mixing a reaction liquid with water; and an oil-water separation step of separating a mixture into a water layer and an oil layer including polyether polyol, in which the total content of the cyclic ether or its derivative in the mixture fed to the oil-water separation step is 45 pts.wt. or less with respect to 100 pts.wt. of the polyether polyol, and the moisture content in the mixture is 110 pts.wt. or more and 1,000 pts.wt. or less with respect to 100 pts.wt. of the polyether polyol. |
