PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator capable of determining whether a user being in contact with a handrail is a user who is getting in a car or not, and thereby, capable of performing proper control processing.SOLUTION: An elevator which has a first handrail 5 and a second handrail 7 mounted on a jamb 4 includes: a first contact sensor 6 which is provided at the first handrail 5 and which can detect the movement of a user of a car approaching a landing door 2 by moving along the first handrail 5; a second contact sensor 8 which is integrally provided at the second handrail 7 and which can detect the movement of a user of the car approaching the landing door 2 by moving along the second handrail 7; a determination unit 10 which determines whether or not the movement of the user of the car approaching the landing door 2 is detected by the first and second contact sensors 6, 8; and a control unit 11 which performs predetermined control processing of the elevator when the movement of the user of the car approaching the landing door 2 is determined to have been detected by the determination unit 10. |
