PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for rapidly and specifically detecting bacteria of the genus Sphingomonas and related genera, primers for detecting bacteria of the genus Sphingomonas and related genera, and methods for predicting activity of a biological treatment tank.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for detecting bacteria of the genus Sphingomonas and related genera, which comprises a step of carrying out PCR using DNA extracted from a sample containing microorganisms as a template, a forward primer of the sequence 1, 3, 5 or 7 that specifically hybridizes to the DNA of Sphingomonas bacteria, and a reverse primer of the sequence 2, 4, 6 or 8 that specifically hybridizes to the DNA of Sphingomonas bacteria. |
