PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscous composition that shows excellent viscosity in high salt concentration.SOLUTION: This invention provides a viscous composition comprising an alkyl-modified carboxyl group-containing water-soluble copolymer obtained by polymerization of 100 pts. mass of (meth) acrylic acid, 0.1 pt. mass or more and 2 pts. mass or less of (meth) acrylic acid alkyl ester in which an alkyl group has 18-24 carbon atoms, and 0-0.1 pt. mass of a compound having two or more ethylenically unsaturated groups, and a urethane associated polyalkylene oxide modified product. |
