PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspecting device or the like that can inspect rising up (floating up) in a booklet to be saddle-stitched by a wire.SOLUTION: The inspecting device takes an image of a stitched part from a position which is inclined at a predetermined angle in a direction different from a direction of a wire at the time when a booklet is normally stitched from a position perpendicular to the stitched part stitched by the wire inside the booklet; and determines based on the taken images to be obtained whether or not a folded shape of the wire is included in a predetermined normal range.
